Issue 01: Scandal in the Desert!

Southend Dune Farm Outpost was attacked and seized by Kami guild Temporary Insanity. The previous owner was Exodus Syndicate, another Kami guild. Your intrepid reporter went to Savage Dunes in order to cover the event - after absent-mindedly zapping a Slayer Frahar by mistake and being saved by the staunch Marelli!

The Attackers: Temporary Insanity states that what they did was take an outpost away from the hands of an old inactive guild in order to make it more useful to the younger and more active generations of homins. Rumors that it will be handed over to another, more active Kami guild are spreading.

The Defenders: An unlikely alliance was formed to fight the attackers, including both Kami and Karavan guilds. Kamists were there because they felt outraged TI was attacking another member of the Kami Alliance unprovoked, while Karaveneers went to combat their enemies. There were rumors that TI interfered with previously established agreements of a handover between ES and another guild.

This war raises relevant moral questions: Do inactive one-homin guilds need so many cats and flowers? Would asking nicely have worked? Is this the beginning of a Kami civil war? Is Marelli really a nice person? Stay tuned for more!

Introduction:

'Eye of the Tyrancha' is the latest news pamphlet being distributed on all the major capitals and towns on Atys. It uses the finest materials that a novice forager can gather in its creation - just be sure to keep it away from water, sand, dust, dampness and strong winds and your copy should last quite a few hours!

The news agency itself is based in Zora and the owner gives his word that this will likely be the most biased, misinformed and incomplete news coverage you'll ever come across! It is all written from the perspective of a newly arrived refugee from Silan. Read at your own risk.

My studies about our land are just concluded and I am glad about my return. I have summarized my knowledge about the amber cube but have decided to break it in ten parts so no one else but you can acquire it. Nine fragments will be sent via my agents while I deliver the last myself.

The Goo has two effects. To the one it works on all natural materials and accelerates their decay. This effect is recycling. Indeed, are there other ways to accelerate the decay of natural materials than the use of Goo. However, the Goo also reacts very violently with all magic, regardless of the distance. In particular where the magic of the Kamis is concerned. Because the magic was spread by the Kamis on Atys, it is basically the side effect which expresses itself in the end. The process of this disintegration is much slower and is partial as this Goo spreads much more slowly.

If a Kami touches the Goo their behavior changes immediately. The Kami becomes becomes stripped of personality and will appear as an empty husk. However, if a Kami comes in contact with an excessive amount of Goo they do not survive. I have also observed how the Goo has strengthened in intense magical activities, but for it I have not yet found the reason.

Under the bark the Goo spreads quickly through the sap veins. There are many tendrils of the trees that are used by the Goo to spread quickly through the veins which are connected together.

On the surface it seems to make headway more slowly. It spreads over the air and infects slowly only to move in a very fast manner after pollution has begun. Infected animals serve only as conveyors and are not killed by the toxicity of the Goo. Indeed, the behavior is completely changed: they are very aggressive, strong and completely controlled by the Goo. The Homins of the new lands call these creatures 'bosses' and without realizing that these animals are struck by the Goo.

The Homins are not infected in the same way. The consequences seem to limit themselves to the confusion of the mind, a madness. Besides magic, Homins barely seem to corrupt the Goo. The meeting of Akenaks took place today those present talked about the last sightings of Giant Gingos these were killed and none have been seen for some time .This being good news but we thought it was a good thing to remind you all to stay vidulant and look befor you charge in !!!

Rikutatis, some further details: A Tryker guild can request to be granted a Taliar when they have more than 5 active members.
Taliar can be either the guild leader or a high officer appointed in his/her stead to represen the guild.
To receive the title (rather than just assume the position) the officer needs to have a good standing with the federation, translating in being a Tryker federal citizen with at least 50 fame.

I assume the rules for becoming a Matis noble would be similar if not identical.
Probably best to ask an existing Matis noble, I know Kassie is one, I think so are Peone and Jayce.

I don't know how applications are now handled. Probably the guild representative wishing to become a noble would present him/herself to the Queen and Her nobles to plead his/her guild's request.
Again, best to ask an existing noble or a CSR.

Sweet, I've myself encountered such harassment and shunning so don't call BS on it. I'm happy it's a vanishingly small part of the community engaging in it, but it exists. Feel happy you've not encountered it yourself (though, being an active pvp player, you wouldn't have been its victim, at most having noticed it happening at a remote).
I'm happy I've found homes where people respect my non-agressiveness as is and don't ridicule me because of it. Sadly others outside those guilds think different.
